Ready U Program
Ready U is a year long, public information campaign focused on citizen preparedness. The goal of the program is to demonstrate to people how they can take three concrete steps to be more prepared for emergencies that may strike in Northwest Ohio:
Step 1: Get a Kit - Step 2: Make a Plan - Step 3: Be Informed
The Ready U program offers a different preparedness related topic each month that is free and open to the public. Each presentation begins at 7:00 PM and is scheduled to last an hour. Partners for the program include: The Andersons, 13 ABC-WTVG, Cumulus Broadcasting, the Lucas County Emergency Management Agency, The Toledo Free Press, and the American Red Cross Greater Toledo Area Chapter.
Ready U kicked off its first presentation in September 2010, and to date, approximately 315 people have attended at least one of the eight Ready U sessions. This has been an excellent way to provide the public with the tools they need to be prepared and give them the chance to talk with experts.
