Pasta Dinner Fundraiser at MainStreet Bar & Grill

mainstr4eet logoSeptember 2010 is National Preparedness Month, a time when the American Red Cross encourages Americans to prepare for emergencies in their homes, businesses and communities. In the wake of the tornadoes that stuck northwestern Ohio in June, one local establishment is taking this to heart.

On Sunday, September 19, 2010 the Toledo MainStreet Bar & Grill will be hosting a Pasta Dinner Fundraiser with the proceeds going to replenish local disaster relief funds that were diminished following the tornadoes. The event will take place from 11:30 am to 8:30 pm at 141 Main Street in Toledo. Plans for this fundraiser include a silent auction, basket raffles, live entertainment and a chance to win one of five prizes valued at $250 or more - just for buying a ticket! Tickets can be purchased online at the MainStreet Bar & Grill Web site.

Sponsors of the Pasta Dinner Fundraiser include:

The Toledo Blade

Cumulus

Marco's Pizza

Sofo Foods

Gordon Food Service

Treu House of Munch

Fox 36

Heidelberg Distributors

In addition to the Pasta Dinner Fundraiser, the Toledo MainStreet Bar & Grill will hold a Family Disaster Preparedness Night on Monday, September 13, 2010, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the same location. This educational program, provided by members of the local Red Cross disaster preparedness team, will teach families how to build an emergency preparedness kit, make a plan and be informed about the resources available in our community. Trained disaster relief personnel will also lead a discussion about the personal long term effects of surviving a disaster.

Reservations are necessary for the Family Preparedness Night to assure that enough materials will be on hand for all participants. If you are interested in attending the Family Disaster Preparedness Night, please send an e-mail message with your name and number of people attending (adults and children) to Peggy Holewinski no later than September 8th.
