Smoke on the Water – Ribs for Red Cross

Promenade Park in downtown Toledo will be the location for this year’s rib fest entitled, “Smoke on the Water – Ribs for Red Cross.” Columbia Gas and Key Bank will be teaming up with the Greater Toledo Area Chapter of the Red Cross to host the event scheduled for the first weekend in August. Each day of the weekend will follow a theme for planned activities and live entertainment.

The riverfront location of Promenade Park is the perfect venue to sample mouth watering BBQ ribs from local and national vendors, while enjoying the music from live bands. Mark the date on your calendar to enjoy the weekend with friends at Smoke on the Water and help support the American Red Cross, too!

Smoke on the Water will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Aug. 1 and 2, and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 3. Admission will be $3 per day, however there will not be a fee if you enter the park before 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 1. Children 12 and under will be admitted free.

Drive for the Red Cross Golf Outing

The United Labor Committee proudly presents the 4th Annual Drive for the Red Cross Golf Outing to be held Friday, May 16, 2008, at Giant Oak Golf Course in Temperance, Michigan. The golf outing will be played as a "scramble" with prizes awarded for 1st and 2nd place, and skill prizes for men and women. Door prizes will also be given to golfers. Hosted by Jack and Carol Sizemore, this event will begin with registration at 9:00 a.m. Click here for a more information and a copy of the registration form.

Red Sails in the Sunset Event Aug. 1

Mark your calendar for a fun-filled night at the Catawba Island Club. The Ottawa County District Office will host "Red Sails in the Sunset" on Friday, August, 1 from 6:00-11:00PM. Guests will enjoy dinner, live auction, and reverse raffle while watching the sun set over Lake Erie. Tickets are $100 per person. For more information or to purchase tickets, call 419.734.1100.
