Thank you for your support of the Greater Toledo Area Chapter, serving Lucas, Ottawa and Wood counties. We provide assistance to people in need...free of charge...every single day. Your contribution means a great deal to the families who rely on the Red Cross to get them through some of the most difficult times of their lives. We are not a government agency, and we rely primarily on the generosity of local residents and businesses to fund our vital programs and services.
We accept checks or money orders, or you can charge your donation on American Express, Discover, Master Card, or Visa. For credit card donations, please include the credit card number and expiration date.
Donations to the American Red Cross are tax-deductible.

In-Kind Donations
The Red Cross is unable to accept small, individual donations or collections of items such as clothing, food or cleaning supplies. The cost to sort, package and distribute these types of donations to disaster victims is almost always greater than the cost of purchasing the items locally, and it is logistically impossible to distribute a wide variety of individual items in a meaningful way. While the Red Cross can not accept the donation of an individual item, you can support our community by donating these items to an organization that is equipped to put them to the best possible local use, such as the Salvation Army or Goodwill.
Offers of sizeable, bulk donations are reviewed to determine if they meet a current need for disaster victims that can be addressed by the Red Cross. Bulk donations are typically new, shrink-wrapped and palletized items, and they are transported by the donor.
This fact sheet provides additional information regarding the ability of the Red Cross to accept in-kind donations and can help you make an informed decision about one of the ways you can support disaster relief activities.
