Training Policies and Procedures


General Information

  • All registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • No walk-in registrations at a class will be accepted. You are not registered in a class until we have received your payment in full, and determined that space is available.

  • Payment and registration must be received at least 3 business days before the first day of class.

  • We reserve the right to cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment – we will call you to reschedule.

 

Class Cancellation Notice

In the event of inclement weather, the American Red Cross will cancel classes to coincide with Toledo Public Schools. Tune in to your local television news program for a listing of cancellations. Participants attending a Toledo course, if you are unsure if your scheduled class has been cancelled, please call our office at 419-329-2183 one hour prior to your scheduled start time.

 

Chapter Cancellation and Transfer Policy:

American Red Cross drop fees for scheduled (classroom and virtual classroom) offerings are as follows:


If the cancellation occurs:

- 8 to 14 days prior to class start date, the drop fee is 10%
- 3 to 7 days prior to class start date, the drop fee is 25%
- 1 to 2 days prior to class start date, the drop fee is 50%
- The day the class starts (or if the enrollee does not attend), the drop fee is 100%.

Note: If you fail to show up for a class 0% of your money will be refunded.

 

Class Information:

Please arrive on time. Late arrivals will not be admitted to class and you will be considered as having not attended the class.

Most of our courses utilize video learning, group discussion, and practice sessions. Because of these interactive training methods, students must attend all class sessions to receive certification.

Students will be required to actively participate. Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that will allow for kneeling and lying on floor mats as required by the training.

For any full-day courses offered, please pack a lunch. Some vending machines are available at the chapter house, but may not be available at the satellite sites.
