The Red Cross currently engages over 169,000 youth and young adults with meaningful opportunities for education, training, and volunteer/community service so that we remain a part of the Red Cross family throughout our lives.

good storiesWe are currently recruiting volunteers for the Children's Area for Smoke on the Water - Ribs for the Red Cross. This event, which will be held from Fri., July 30 - Sun., Aug. 1, will take place on the riverfront in downtown Toledo. Volunteers are needed for activities such as face painting and game supervision or set-up, tear down and trash detail. Click on the link below to download a youth volunteer form.

National Youth Institute - Alexis Vargas, Katie Johnson, and Du'aa Elnoory represented the Greater Toledo Area Chapter of the American Red Cross at the National Youth Institute in Orlando, FL, April 3-5, 2009. It was an amazing experience! Click on the link to see photos of this event.

Make Disaster Relief Comfort Kits

Help us collect supplies and create comfort kits for those people affected by weather disasters around the nation or by fires and floods in our local community.

Help with Fundraising

good storiesThe American Red Cross is desperately in need of donations to fund disaster relief and health and safety programs. We are looking for eager and motivated youth willing to take on creative fundraising campaigns at their school or in their community! This also provides the chance to earn awards and scholarships in the future!

Become an American Red Cross Safety Instructor

Teach children about the importance of safety and emergency preparedness through a variety of basic courses. Material is self-taught. Volunteers in this area highly in demand. (must be 17+)
